The Gastein thermal baths
The Gastein thermal baths have been tried and tested for centuries – even by royalty. Archduke Johann travelled to the summer resort, as it was known in those days, as far back as 1822, while later imperial highnesses such as Wilhelm I, Franz Josef I and Sisi also followed in order to enjoy the healing power of Gastein’s thermal water. The Gastein Valley was a meeting point of the rich and powerful. These days the medically recognised health resort is one of the top destinations for spa guests from all over the world.
The immense power of water
Every day, 4.5 million litres of thermal water with a temperature of 44.3°C spring from 17 healing springs, in which the rare gas of radon is an important component. As clinical studies have shown, the rare gas of radon is particularly effective in treating ankylosing spondylitis, rheumatism, arthrosis and diseases of the respiratory tract and skin. In all its forms, it has a particularly vitalising effect on the cells in the human body.

Gastein Healing Tunnel Therapy
The Gastein Healing Tunnel is unique in the world and is considered the most effective spa remedy in the Gastein Valley due to its high success rate. The three healing factors are its radon content, air temperature from 37°C to 41.5°C and humidity from 70% to 95%.
It allows for successful prevention, regeneration or healing. Healing baths and poultices, exercise therapy, therapeutic and special massages are all offered as well as access to the world-famous Gastein healing tunnel.
